The Achievement Academy students conducted a community garden cleanup on Saturday April 1st, 2017.

A community garden allows city residents to use shared or individual plots of land to grow fresh produce for their own usage. Gardens are often oasis’s in the middle of food deserts and beautify neighborhoods with diverse plant life and provide regular outdoor activity for residents with green thumbs. In the winter months the gardens can fall into disrepair and require maintenance. The Achievement Academy arranged for the students to help clean-up and maintain this valuable resource.

The Achievement Academy member Zahir Coney remarked that he was “proud” of the students efficiency and with the amount of work they completed in the Saturday session.
